And Now PK's Gone Too

I don't believe I have more sad news to share. PK, our bright, sunny, orange PK, got cancer and joined Little Gray and Tommy and all his other cat friends on the other side. He was the last of the cats who lived here when I arrived to take charge of this household as Head Cat. We were such good friends, and I loved him so much. Our human and I are just so sad... again.

He told me that was what he was going to do, although our human kept taking him to different doctors trying to make him well. He knew how much we wanted him to stay here. But he couldn't, he just couldn't. So less than a week after we found out he had cancer, he curled up in a cat bed and went to sleep with our human sitting on the floor beside him petting him and telling him how much she loved him. He loved her, too, and he's still with us like the others are. We just can't see him, and that makes all of us so sad.

His body was so beautiful... bright orange with golden eyes. Here's his picture. He was trying out a harness and leash he wore to Walk for Paws, a huge fundraiser for an animal welfare group. He and his friend Sebastian were the only cats who did the walk. All the other walkers were either humans or dogs. Our human was so proud of him!

A Broken Heart -- Again

I'm so sad again. Our Tommy cat crossed over to the other side last week. Except for PK, all my old friends who I loved so much are gone. I can't write now... Here's our human.

It's been exactly a week to the minute that I heard that horrible scream. Then I discovered my wonderful, strong, funny Tommy cat limp on the floor. Tommy's cardiologist and all the websites I read warned that one of the complications of HCM is "sudden death." Yes, it was sudden. That afternoon, he met me at my car, clawed his signature into the post of the trellis as he'd done many times a day for 14 years and followed me inside for a bite to eat. A few hours later, he was gone. I still don't believe it. So many losses this year -- Little Gray, some of my favorite pet sitting cats and now Tommy. I've written some of my memories of our time together on a separate page. I hope you enjoy reading them.

Here's Tommy, my wonderful Tommy, sleeping on his favorite chair on the balcony.

Written With A Broken Heart

I haven't done any blogging for a long time because we had a terrible tragedy, and I've been too sad. Little Gray, our human's beloved and all-time favorite cat Little Gray, crossed to the other side in January.

I can't write any more now. He was her best friend, and we're just so sad.
