Anyway, our Human is pet sitting for Mel, who lives near us. He has a cat door. Lucky guy...
So she walked into his apartment tonight and Tommy -- our Tommy! -- was sitting on the dining room table. Mel and another cat were outside on the patio. Our Human picked Tommy up and put him outside. He gave her an ugly look and went right back in. By the time she'd picked up him again and put him out the front door, the other cat was inside waiting for the refreshments to be served. Mel was still on the patio.
Our human threw some dry food outside so Mel and the other cat could play the popular party game called "Hunt for Food." Then she fixed Mel's dinner. Tommy was back in Mel's yard when she left. I don't think he went inside and ate the food though. Fortunately for Mel, he doesn't like raw chicken.
In case you're wondering, cat parties aren't all that exciting. Mostly what we do is eat all the host's dry food, maybe try out a toy or two and then leave. Stopping to say thank you would be a waste of time. And usually the host or hostess hopes we will not come back soon.
Here's a picture of Mel. It was taken a long time ago when he lived here as a foster cat. He looks exactly the same though, and I think he was a very smart cat to adopt our neighbors.
