So you'd think Phoebe would be grateful to our human for saving her and Leia from a kill shelter (oh, what a horrible thought!) and introducing them to Carol and Drew. She says she really is grateful, but that's no reason to go home before she's ready just because our human might be waiting for her.
So our human waits and waits. She watches the news with Phoebe's friend Franny, wanders through the neighbor's yard looking for Phoebe under the bushes and deck, checks on the next street where Phoebe has some friends... Eventually Phoebe shows up and is really annoyed if she has to wait at the door for more than two seconds.
I don't know why I'm so bent out of shape about this. After all, Phoebe is a calico cat. I just don't like our human wandering around outside unsupervised. She could get lost or get into a fight with another human, like the neighbor who doesn't appreciate having her in his yard. Phoebe says she's an adult, and she can take care of herself. I'm not so sure about that.
Diana Hanshaw took these pictures of Phoebe and Leia when they were in the group home. Phoebe was Patches then, and Leia was Lea.
