Smitty and Puma Are Going Home!

I'm so excited! Smitty and Puma got adopted today. I'm just so happy for them. It's wonderful to get adopted and know that someone wants you and needs you.

They're going to be living in a small horse barn. I have no idea what a horse barn is, but it sounds nice. Our Human says they'll be working cats. Their job will be catching mice. I'd love a job like that, and I'd be really good at it. I'm not allowed to catch mice and bring them inside to play here. I wonder if I could have my favorite cat bed and a cat tree in a horse barn.

But back to Smitty and Puma. The interesting thing about cats in no-kill shelters is that they wait for the right forever family to come along. And they always know when their people are coming to meet them.

Other people met Smitty. But he was never enthusiastic about any of them and even bit one. Well, it was more of a nip than a bite, but the woman got the message and decided she didn't want a barn cat, after all.

But today, Smitty was waiting at the top of the steps to greet his forever people. Then, he walked them down the steps to introduce them to Puma. The people love them! Smitty and Puma are going home tomorrow. Good luck, guys! I hope you'll be very, very happy. And catch a couple of mice for me.

Diana Hanshaw took this picture of Smitty.
