There's a new cat named Shadow at Cleo's house, and she's very shy. So this afternoon when our human got there, Shadow took one look at her and walked across the living room hissing at her. Hisss... Hisssss! Hissssss!!! Then she followed our human into the kitchen, still hissing. Maybe she just has a unique way of saying she's hungry. As soon as she noticed a can of Fancy Feast being opened, she retreated to a corner of the dining room and waited (quietly) for food.
Cleo used to be afraid of our human, too. For years, when she heard her coming into the house she'd run into the basement and hide behind the washing machine. Our human would crawl under the laundry sink and put some treats behind the washer for Cleo. All that changed though, when she started getting Fancy Feast. Now she waits under the dining room table for the food to be served. And if our human doesn't open the cans fast enough, she comes into the kitchen to see what's taking so long.
I'm not crazy about Fancy Feast myself. In fact, I won't touch the stuff. But hey, whatever works for Cleo and Shadow works for me, I guess.
Here are their pictures. Cleo's eating Fancy Feast.
