Our diabetic foster cat, Kitty, got a new timed feeder today. Our human thought Kitty's blood glucose levels wouldn't fluctuate so much (what the heck does that mean?) if she could have some wet food every four hours or so, even if no people were here to feed her. The timed feeder is in the bathroom, where Kitty's other dishes are.
So tonight, when we went to check on her, Kitty was sitting on the edge of the bathtub watching the dial on the feeder. Watching... watching... patiently watching. The dish sprang open, and Kitty sprang to the floor at exactly the same time. So now she's happily eating some kind of low-carb Fancy Feast, and the rest of us are waiting for our dinner to be served.
I got a new dish, too. It's actually two heart-shaped dishes on a heart-shaped stand. Cute... I'm not sure I like that the bottom of the white dish says "spoiled" and the bottom of the pink one says "rotten" though. I am not spoiled! Our human is just well trained.
I think one of the dishes is supposed to be for water and the other for food. But cats like our water as far from our food as possible -- another room is best -- so we're using my two dishes for dry food and wet food or tuna.
In case you've forgotten what she looks like, here's Kitty's picture again. Remember, she's up for adoption.
